Timeless Safes on The Block: Watch Winder Safe Prize

Timeless Safes on The Block: Watch Winder Safe Prize

Table of Contents

It’s not every day a safe is won with a bow and arrow.

On 11 October 2026, Rick and Tayla took on the archery challenge on The Block, Season 22, Episode 41. They won a Timeless 3 watch winder safe and a $10,000 AUD cash prize.

Host Scott Cam loved the Timeless 2, which was added to the plunge pool prize for the season’s winners.

Here’s the story behind it, and why a watch winder safe belongs in a collector’s home.

    What Is The Block?

If you’re not a Blockhead, The Block is an Australian renovation show on the Nine Network where teams of two renovate a property room by room. Each room is judged, and at the end, the finished homes go to auction.

It's a very Australian show built around what many of us care about most. The backyard. The pool. The kitchen. A home you are proud of.

It has been in Australian lounge rooms for over two decades. People talk about the reveals for days. Everyone has an opinion on the tiles.

The Block 2026: Season 22 in Mount Eliza

Season 22 moved to Mount Eliza on the Mornington Peninsula, about an hour from Melbourne. It’s the first season filmed on a waterfront site, with views across Port Phillip Bay to the city skyline.

Five teams took on the build, with 12 weeks to finish. The design brief was quiet luxury. Scott Cam hosted his 20th season, alongside Shelley Craft.

    That is why it matters.

The Block is not just about renovation. It's about what makes a home worth having.

Why Sentinel Is Proud to Be Part of The Block

Sentinel Safes is an Australian brand with more than 20 years in security. Our aim is simple. Protect Australian homes.

So being part of The Block means something to us. It’s one of the best-known shows on Australian TV, and it is all about homes.

That is what makes it a good fit.

A safe belongs in a home the same way a good kitchen does. It should be planned, not added at the end.

Most renovations plan the lighting and the finishes. Few plan where the watches, jewellery and documents will live.

A Timeless safe fits that brief. It sits in a wardrobe or walk-in robe as part of the space. It is built to belong in the room.

That’s how we think about security in an Australian home. Strong enough to protect what matters. Designed well enough that you are happy to see it every day.

The Prizes: Timeless 3 and Timeless 2 Watch Winder Safes

    The Timeless 3

Rick and Tayla won two things: the Timeless 3 and a $10,000 AUD cash prize. They earned both by hitting the target in an archery challenge.

Aim carefully. Hit the target. Win something worth protecting.

The Timeless 3 watch winder safe is our flagship. It weighs 318kg and has a triple-layered steel door. It holds eight winders.

    The Timeless 2

The Timeless 2 was added to the plunge pool prize, with a Rolex inside.

The Timeless 2 weighs 210kg and holds the same eight winders in a shorter body, so it suits a smaller wardrobe or walk-in robe.

Host Scott Cam took one look and loved it.

He explained it this way: “You put all your valuables and cash in it, but it also holds your whole watch collection, spins the watches around, and winds them. So whenever you open it and grab a watch, it is on the right time.” Then he added, “How cool is that, right? Had to show you because I love that.”

That reaction is the point. Once you see a watch winder safe in person, a drawer starts to look like a poor home for a good watch.

Both safes carry the same core protection:

    • A 60-minute fire rating, tested at 1700°F (about 927°C)
    • A $50,000 cash rating
    • 70mm walls with double steel layers and fireproof fill
    • Multi-point locking bolts and relocking mechanisms
    • Adjustable winder speed, rotation direction, and TPD settings
    • A suede-lined interior and customisable lighting
    • A 7-year warranty

What It Looked Like on Screen

Sentinel supplied the safes, and The Block did the rest. One was presented in an orchard during the archery challenge. The other stood in the HQ shed as part of the Plungie plunge pool prize.

Inside the Timeless 2: suede-lined watch winders with interior lighting

Most people have never seen a watch winder safe up close. On The Block, they did, with a Rolex turning inside it.

What Most People Get Wrong About Protecting Valuables

Hiding something is not the same as protecting it.

Watches go in a drawer. Jewellery goes in a bedside table. Papers sit in a folder on a shelf. These are the obvious places, and burglars know them.

A hiding spot only works if nobody finds it. A safe does not rely on that. It uses mass, steel and locking bolts to resist attack, even when someone knows exactly where it is.

Fire is the other gap. Many lockboxes are not built to survive a house fire. A fire rating, tested to a stated temperature and time, tells you what to expect.

Cash ratings matter too. A cash rating is the amount of cash an insurer will generally cover when it is kept in the safe. Check the rating on yours against your policy.

None of this is complicated. It just needs a decision.

Why a Watch Winder Safe Belongs in a Collector’s Home

A watch winder safe solves three problems in one unit.

First, it keeps automatic watches running. Each winder can be set to the speed, direction and turns per day (TPD) that suit the watch inside it.

Second, it displays the collection. A suede-lined interior and customisable lighting turn a wardrobe or walk-in robe into something worth showing.

Third, it protects. Steel walls with fireproof fill, multi-point locking bolts and certified fire and cash ratings do the work a drawer never could.

Many collectors end up with a winder in one place and a safe in another. The Timeless Series puts both in one unit.

We are also Australian. Our safes are supplied and installed locally, with a team you can call.

Which size suits you? The Timeless 1 suits a compact space and holds three winders. The Timeless 2 and Timeless 3 suit larger collections. For a closer look at a collector’s setup, read our story on Jarome Luai’s Timeless 3.

    Where Your Watches Should Live

The Block was the stage. The point is the same in every home.

If you have built a collection, you have already made the hard decisions. You chose the watches. You paid for them. The last decision is where they live.

A drawer is a place to store watches. A watch winder safe is a place to protect them.

If your collection is the best thing in your home, why is it stored like it isn’t?
